I’ve gone to Ilocos with my former college classmates and friends.
Thanks to Traveller’s Journey as we’ve come to this very wonderful place of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.
The travel fee was Php. 2,799.00 per head and we were five in the group and we may say that our trip is worth the price!
So here’s the itinerary that we have gone and done.
Day 0 – March 19, 2015
The date was March 19, 2015 and our meet up was at Trinoma at 7 in the evening.
At past 8 p.m. we were ready for a night trip! We were a total of three groups inside a Grandia Van. We had a stopover at Tarlac by 1 a.m..
Day 1 – March 20, 2015
Calle Crisologo in Vigan. We reached Vigan at four o’clock in the morning and obviously it was still dark. And of course all the houses there were still closed. The feeling was just so eerie and its look like we were back in the past.
Breakfast at Cusina Felecitas. At 5:30 a.m. we ate our breakfast at Cusina Felecitas. The price range of their food is from 100-150 pesos for tapsilog, tocilog, cornsilog excluded of coffee or hot chocolate.
Plaza Salcedo, Vigan. We dropped by at Plaza Salcedo to take a picture at the big signage of Ilocos Sur.
We also drop by at Vigan Church.
Burnayan Pottery Making. When the sun was already rising, we went to Burnayan Potter Making to watch a demo of how to make a pot and it’s pretty hard.
Bell Tower. The next destination is the Bell tower. We had the chance to climb the tower and saw the big bell plus the 360 degree view of Ilocos.
The Shrine of Apo Caridad. We also dropped by at the church beside it.
Baluarte. We visited Baluarte that is owned by Chavit Singson. There’s a zoo and a museum here. Entrance fee is for free.
Marcos Mausoleum. We had the chance to visit the mausoleum of the late President Marcos.
Lunch. Our lunch was great! I just love it. It’s my first time to taste Bagnet.
Paoay Church.
Malacañang of the North. Paoay, Ilocos Norte. I was pretty amazed with the house.
Paoay Sand Dunes. We had an extreme ride on a 4x4 in Sand dunes. The feeling was so exciting. And our adrenaline was rushing in. Be ready to lose all your voice here due to non-stop screaming at the top of your lungs!
We also had the chance to have a sand boarding and stopover at the beach.
4x4 costs Php. 2,500.00 that is good for 5 people so each one of us gave Php.500.00. (I’m so good in Math. Hahaha!)
Lodge. We stayed on a hotel. (Sorry, I forgot the name of the hotel) and we were three in a spacey air-conditioned room that has two beds and two extra mattress.
Dinner at Laoag City. We went to Laoag City to have dinner. We also had the chance to roam around the Plaza for about an hour before going back to the hotel.
Day 2- Mar. 21, 2015
We took our breakfast at the canteen of the hotel that we stayed. By seven in the morning we’re ready to roam again!
Light house Burjador. This was our first stop. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to enter the lighthouse’s tower. The scenic view here was just so breath-taking. We are literally at the one point of the end of the Philippines. We could see the northern ocean part of the country.
White Rock Formation.
Bangui Windmills. According to our tour guide, there’s more than a hundred windmills in Ilocos and 70 percent of Ilocos’ power supply is through those windmills.
Lunch. We had our lunch nearby Blue Lagoon. By the way, we have our every meal at approximately Php. 100.00 expense.
Bantay Abut Cave. This looks like an open gate. Hehe. It’s so windy here.
Kabigan Falls. This is a thirty minute trekking going to Kabigan Falls. The view along the way is quite awesome. There’s a big farm, and clear running river that we have passed through.
Patapat Bridge
Saud Beach, Pagudpod. We took our swimming on this beach. The water is so clear and the coastline is so white plus it’s not too crowdy.
Back to Lodge. We were back to hotel at six. We took our dinner on a restaurant near it.
Day 3 – Mar. 22, 2015
The Departure. We leave the lodge at seven in the morning. But of course before leaving, we ate breakfast again in the hotel but this time it was room service.
Vigan for Pasalubong buying. At eleven in the morning we reached Vigan, Ilocos Sur and spent an hour there for pasalubong buying. I brought some shirts, chichacorn and keychains, and wallet to replace my broken one.
Side trip at La Union for Pasalubong buying again. We bought here bagoong, garlic, onion, mangoes and others.
Trinoma at 5 p.m. We reached Trinoma at past five in the afternoon.
And it’s Home Sweet Home!
