First Adventure of 2017: Mount Mabilog and Other Side Trips

Mount Mabilog, Nagcarlan Laguna

Jan. 15, 2017 | Sunday

Cheers to my first adventure for the year 2017!

To sum up this day’s adventure:

1.      Pandin Lake

2.      Mount Mabilog Summit passing through the twin lake

3.      Getting the view of Mount Cristobal by the summit

4.      Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery

5.      Bunga Twin Falls

Aside from hiking another mountain for the first time, I was able to visit other wonderful places in Laguna. Thank you so much to the event coordinator of this trip. WeWanderPH specifically John Michael Santiago.

For me, the hike going to the summit of Mount Mabilog was just an easy path.
I think its rate is just 2/9 so it's a good climb for starters.

In less than two hours, we already reached the summit with the perfect backdrop of Mount Cristobal.

Thank you, JM for organizing this event and I really enjoyed being with new people and at the same time going to new places I have never been before.

This joined group meet up was at Shaw Boulevard at 4 in the morning. We were total of 14 in the van.

After two hours, we finally reached our destination. Hello there, Laguna!

And our first stop was at Pandin Lake since it is the jump off location of Mount Mabilog.

Then we’re all ready to reach the summit! For me, it was just a chill and easy climb. Along the way, I was able to chit chat with my new found hiking buddies.

Mount Cristobal or known as the Devil’s Mountain served as the perfect backdrop when we finally reached the summit.

And then we were back again to Pandin Lake to rest for a few minutes and then we’re ready to go to our next destination.

Say Hello! to my new found buddies!

Our next stop was the Underground Cemetery - just a few minutes away from Pandin Lake.

I may say that this place is really rich in history and it just adds up to the greatness of the place.
The outside picturesque is just so adorable despite of the tombs that you can already see on the sides.

Upon entering the church, it’s a bit creepy because of the chilling feels. Of course, we didn’t forget to pay respect for the remains in there.

Then we’re up to our last destination which is the Bunga Twin Falls and had our lunch!

After lunch was swimming time!

At 6 in the afternoon, we packed up and we’re ready to go home.

Another adventure day, another worthy memory to keep.

And another cheers to more adventures for this year!
