Choices

I reflect about - Choices

I strongly believe that there is no wrong choice.
It just turned out to be wrong because we didn’t stand for it, or it just disappoints us.

Choices are given to us not to select options

High school Life

I thought – High school life

They say that high school life is one of the best memories we could ever have in our early lives.

Being a teenager is a lot of events and emotions that we used to experience.

First love, first kiss, first set of friends which are some were good and some were not so.
Also during this stage of our lives, curiosity leads us.

Enchanted Kingdom

I tour- Enchanted Kingdom

Who says that an amusement park like Enchanted Kingdom would only be suitable for kids?
Well, you were all wrong!!!

For even people who are young at heart can enjoy this kind of place.

Confession part 2

Confession Part 2:

Minsan everyday, minsan naman once in a blue moon. Kahit sa pagsusulat ko ng isang nobela, for quiet some time, it took me two years para mawakasan ito. And I also feel na parang may kulang pa sa mga detalye niya.
Magsusulat at magsusulat ako.
1.     Madaming time, walang maisip isulat.
2.   Walang time, daming maisip isulat.
So, ironic huh.
3.    May time, may gustong isulat, tinatamad!
Hehe..
If something new blows up my mind, ayun at napaka-eager akong simulan iyon, pero once na itigil ko na ang pagtipa sa keyboard, alam na ang kasunod… Nganga!

PSICOM
One of the best publishing companies I’ve ever loved.
I even tried to collect some of those, pero dahil sa marami akong pinsang pakialamera at adik din sa libro na kagaya ko. Ayun, missing in action na ang lahat.
Mahirap kasi maging mabait, eh. Yung tipong bigay ka lang ng bigay, pahiram ka lang ng pahiram, in the end kapag ikaw na ang nangailangan… Wala na!
Anyways, back to the topic.
I tried to submit some of my creations through e-mail sa PSICOM at awa naman ng Diyos, wala pa ring feedback!
Hehe, okay lang yon! It won’t stop me from writing! J
Kahit ilang rejections pa ang dumating sa buhay ko I will never fail to try and try until I succeed! That’s the fighting spirit!
And besides, writing is a hobby for me, not a business.
Pero sabi ng utak ko, “Weh! Plastic!”
Actually, I really dreamed to be an official writer, you know, with a published book at bonus nalang kung maging bestseller iyon.
I even dreamed na sana ito nalang ang propesyon ko pero dahil sa maraming bagay-bagay, I just kept it as my secret, deepest passion in life.
Never lose hope and never lose faith, keep the fire burning, yan ang motto ko..

And this is my confession..
I am a frustrated writer.

(To be continued…..)

Missing You

I create: Missing You (a poem)

Missing You

Feels like a half of me is missing
Loneliness and pain fill my heart
Wondering of how long will be waiting,
for you to come back, my other part.

I wish that time could run swiftly
Days, months, years will pass soon.
I miss you hugging me so tightly
Our lovely nights witnessed by the moon.

I miss your presence that can stop the time,
Miss your smile that brightens my day,
Miss your hand that swings with mine
And miss your kisses that can take the pain away.

Just hold on and we can make it through,
Have faith for our love is true.
Distance means nothing for me and you,
I will patiently wait because I love you.

Friendship Poem

I create: Friendship Poem

Thanks!

THERE ARE CERTAIN PEOPLE IN MY LIFE
THAT I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT.
THEY ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHOM I CAN CALL AS FRIENDS
ALL THE WAY OUT.

THEY BRING OUT THE BEST IN ME
AND ALWAYS INSPIRE ME.
TO GO ON WITH MY LIFE AND BE THE BEST
THAT I CAN BE!

CAN I CONTINUE MY LIFE WITHOUT THEM?
THEY MADE ME CRY, MAD AND SMILE.
ASIDE FROM GOD TO WHOM CAN I RUN?
THESE PEOPLE MADE ME THINK FOR A WHILE,

THANKS FOR BEING ONE OF MY FEW FRIENDS
WHO'LL NEVER LEAVE TIL THE END
I PROMISE THAT I'LL DO THE SAME
I'LL BE PROUD AND NEVER BE ASHAME.

BECAUSE OF YOU MY LIFE HAS DIRECTIONS
TO GO TO THE FARTHEST SUCESS
WITH YOU BY MY SIDE AND'LL NEVER LEAVE
I CAN ALREADY SAY THAT I'M THE BEST!

THANK'S FRIEND! :)

Love and Hurt

I reflect- Love and Hurt

When we love, we get hurt. Yes, we tend to be happy but not for a very long time. Every time we love, we expect of love in return. But not all can be that easy.
There will be times that we will be disappointed because of false expectations. Sometimes it’s better to be hurt, for us to know that we already love someone.
Having someone beside us let us know and feel that, Hey! I’m not alone.

Confession of a Frustrated Writer

I express:  Confession of a frustrated writer

I can say that writing is my greatest forte.
I can’t sing, I can’t dance and I can’t even act. Since grade school when I have started to red, nagkapassion na ko sa mga pocketbooks o kahit anong nobela, mapa adult book man o story book.
Then when I reach the fourth grade, mas binibigyan kong pansin ang literature column sa school newspaper namin kesa sa mga headlines o iba pa.
And then I started to draft a short poem. Na inspired ako sa nabasa kong tula about flowers growing in the garden so I created my own poem about flowers, too. Ni recite ko pa nga yon in front of the class tapos tinanong nila ako saan ko daw nakuha yung poem.
Okay lang at least I know the truth that it was created by me!
One of the greatest regret ko siguro sa buhay is when I didn’t give a try on writing to our school newspaper.
Shyness and cowardice lead me that time.

A Happy Workplace

I speak – Have fun at Work!

Despite of the stressful paper works and deadlines, we must know how to enjoy on our workplace.

We all know that it’s not easy to work but we have to. Whatever your job is, all you have to do is to enjoy it and love it so that it will love you too.

Stress Reliever

I speak- My stress reliever for the week!

A date with my younger brother and my niece just made my day today and I am ready to face the stressful working days again tomorrow.

Since it is January, the air is so cold even though it was just after lunch. You can feel the breeze of wind everywhere. And I am so glad to feel it once in a while. In a tropical country like Philippines. Temperature like today can be recognize and much appreciated by a typical Filipino like me.

We went on a mall for our lunch, then played at timezone. After that went to fullybooked to read some books and then sit on a park, watched my niece and my brother playing.

To relieve stress will just depend on us. And today I chose to share it with God through nature and with my loved ones.

While quietly sitting there on a very scenic and modern park, I just felt the kindness of the world as the cool breeze of air touches my face, my shoulders and as well as my heart. That despite of all the problems I am facing right now, there's still some things to appreciate life.

Life is not only about problems whether financially, emotionally, socially, physically or what so ever.. Life is too short to waste on thinking all about our stresses. So take some time to be happy and worry free.

Finding True Love

I speak- Finding True Love

Papa God has been so good to me.
Few years back, I deeply prayed and asked to Him for a man that will love me for real.
Thank you so much for giving me a man that is worth waiting for.

Finding true love..

The greatest definition of love is written on the bible.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

New International Version (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

First Love vs. Last Love
(John and Ching)

This story begun when he met the love of her life, si Ching. Siya ang taong nag-alaga kay Vince nung naaksidente sila ni Lieu on the way to Baguio. Matagal na nawala ang memorya ni Vince during that time at si Ching kasama ng pamilya nito ang umalalay sa kanya hanggang sa tuluyan na siyang gumaling at bumalik ang ala-ala niya.  Here the story goes…

Tibiao, Antique

I-travel: Tibiao, Antique
My hometown

Tibiao, Antique has been a big part of my life. This is where I was born. And I am very proud to be a Tibiaonon!

It’s been a pleasure na unti unti ng nakikilala ang Tibiao. Thanks to my cousin, Flord Nicson Calawag who’s playing a major role in promoting our province as one of the fastest growing tourist spots in the Philippines.

It’s more fun in Tibiao!

A Trip to Baguio One “Fine” Stormy Long Weekend

The date was  Aug.  24, 2012.
“Bumagyo man o bumagyo, tuloy pa rin ang Baguio natin ngayon!” (Whether there’ll be storm or there’ll be storm, we’ll still go on with our trip to Baguio tonight!)
I group texted this to my friends and they all agreed. That’s how determined we are to pursue this trip.

It’s a six hour drive away from Manila.
Since we travel via public bus, the fare is 500 pesos for a one way trip. We chose to travel by night. It was 1 a.m. and we reached Baguio City at 7 a.m.

What a great way to start your day! From a very hot temperature in Manila down to a very cold place like Baguio. Feels like you were being placed on a big freezer!
Before we start our tour, we find our way to our contacted transient house and it just a jeep ride away from the city plaza/ market. But since we don’t know how to get there via public jeepney, we rode on a taxi cab and we let the transient owner talk to the driver using my friend’s phone.
We will stay there for three days and two nights. We paid six hundred pesos each. By the way we were 6 in the group. The house we rent has two bedrooms with double decks and is already complete with all the things that we need.
From sala set to television, to hot shower, to utensils, gas stove and many more! Well, it was just like home!

We ate our breakfast at a fast food restaurant.
After that, I took out our itinerary printed in paper and tadaah! We started our tour.

DAY 1
First Stop: The Tam-awan Village.
From downtown, you can ride a jeep directly going to Tam-awan village.
Here we saw how katutubos live their lives. We saw their kubol (huts) and the anitos (statues of worshipping).
We also experience a little bit of hiking before we can reach the top.  It’s a fulfilling experience as we became close to nature.
There’s also a shop inside where you can buy souvenir items. We also had the chance to see a photo gallery.
Note: There’s an entrance fee of 50 pesos.

Next stop: Camp John Hay
Via taxi as we went there.  We first went to Tree Top Adventure for some exciting activities like zip line, free fall, trekking and so forth.
We took our lunch at a nearby canteen.
Then after eating our lunch, we continued our tour inside Camp John Hay. We entered the cemetery of negativity, the former rest house which now turned to be a museum, the amphitheater and the totem pole.
We didn’t have so much time to visit the butterfly sanctuary. Maybe next time. I promised that to myself.

 Next: Burnham Park
We turned being a child again. We rode on bicycles which cost 30 pesos only for unlimited time of use. We also rode a boat on the man-made pond which according to my friends who became the boatmen, it’s so hard to control. Haha!

It was such a wonderful experience with friends. Actually, I have already been to Baguio several times before but this time was the most enjoyable one since I’m with friends.

It was not like before that I was with my family wherein I don’t have to care about the expenses, the food, the time, and the place to stay.

It was so much fun to travel independently!

As for our dinner, before heading back to our transient house, we went to city market to buy some raw foods. And here we experience the tawaran portion.
I voluntarily cooked for our dinner since my friends are not well enough in cooking. But I think, it was just they were too lazy and chose to just curled up on the sala set because of the cold weather.
I’m so sorry for the fried galunggong, guys. I tried my best to cook them well! Haha! And also for the corned beef with cabbage, I think it just tasted good because there’s nothing left for the cat waiting outside our door.
It was a very tiring day yet we had so much fun!fun!fun!
We slept at 10 p.m.

DAY 2:
One of  my friends woke us up at exactly 5 a.m. She’s not so excited to roam again huh!
For the breakfast, the one who woke us up helped me in making our food.
Fried rice, scrambled egg and hotdog with matching hot milo or coffee with milk, go for the heavy bf!
Since it was Sunday, we will go to church to hear a mass.

Our first destination of the day: Baguio Cathedral.
There’s a saying that if it is your first time to visit a church, you can take a wish. So we grabbed that chance. And guess what? We had the same wish for that day and that is we hoped that the sun will shine today.

Miracles do happen! You just have to P.U.S.H. “Pray Until Something Happen.”
Though, it was forecasted that there was really a storm that day, the sun did say hi to us!
I have five friends who can attest to that.

After we hear mass, we headed our way to St. Joseph Convent to buy their famous peanut brittle for pasalubong and since it is just a walking distance to Mines View Park we went straight there to buy more pasalubongs, souvenirs and of course to feel the essence of being in Baguio. Mountains. Mountains. Mountains. I just love it!

Must try: Strawberry taho! It’s so yummy! J I swear.
We headed back to lunch since our hands are already full with so much “pasalubongs”and souvenirs.

We had our lunch at the transient house and the food we ate was cooked by yours truly again.

After lunch, we made our way to the other side of Baguio and that is Baranggay Asin, wherein the temperature there is not so cold so we can enjoy our swim on a resort. Yes, you have red it right, swimming in Baguio City! Hehe.
We also had the chance to see some rivers and waterfalls during our jeepney road trip.

Back to downtown city at 6 p.m. and we were so tired for the long travel. I think it was more than an hour travel time to Asin so we decided to eat on a fast food chain again near Baguio Plaza. No more energy to cook for dinner.

And tomorrow is another day. J

Day 3:

It was not only me who’s on that vacation so I gave the others chance to cook for us. Haha! It was just I got lazy to move that morning.
And for our breakfast, it was newly cooked rice, longanisa and instant corn and crab soup with hot milk. Oh, this is life!

They say that if you can’t go to this place, you’re whole trip to Baguio is not complete. Our next destination, the very famous, Mansion!

And then to Wright Park which is just across the street to do some pictorial shoot. One of my friends is a frustrated photographer so we gave him the chance.

We didn’t do the horseback riding. Ask my friends why.
Then we passed by at Sunshine Park and we saw another church.
We head back to Baguio Plaza to experience the Ukay!Ukay!

We had our lunch first before heading back to Manila.
It was really a great experience and I surely will never forget this trip!
It’s more fun in Baguio and it is really more fun in the Philippines!
Proud to be Pinoy! J
Note: J
Even though, it was raining most of the time, we still enjoyed our vacation in Baguio.

Maybe for others, this is just a typical out of town trip but for me this is a kind of travel that is life changing.

How and Why?
I planned the whole trip alone, where to stay, where to go and what to do. I do all the research, inquiries and itinerary.
It has also been a big challenge for us since we pursue our plan on a rainy season.
There’s a reason behind it and I’ll just keep it as a secret. Haha!
Big thanks to my friends who supported this plan. They let me do all the things that I have to with regards to this trip.

Actually, after this three-days-two nights-getaway, I finally realized that I would love to plan and travel all the other sides of my beloved country. It woke up my travel-adventure spirit.
There are so many beautiful places here in the Philippines and one at a time, now that I am earning, I will and must go to all of it!
Wish me luck on this bucket list of mine.

This trip happened last August 2012 and ever since then, my friends already used to depend on me on our other getaways.
I’m happy to always hear this from us, “Si Alaine na bahala diyan!” (Alaine can manage that!)
Because of our trip to Baguio, I became an instant adventure/trip planner.
Sometimes, I even initiated or lead the out of town trips with my not-so-close colleagues or friends of friends.
Special thanks to my very ichy feet and wild spirit who now loves to travel.

As of now, I am collecting all my strengths to travel alone because when that time comes, surely it would be a life changing event for me again.
: )
