A Holy Week Trip to Quirino Province (end of March 2024)
I just stayed at home last year spending the holy week.
But this year, I was given the privilege (thank you Lord God for
safety and for providing financially) to travel.
Our destination was Quirino Province and it was my first time to
go there that’s why I was really eager to pursue this trip. I invited my best
friend Marcelo to go with me and he agreed.
Besides, it’s his birthday the night before our trip going to
Quirino.
We met at Greenfield Pasig at 10 pm. Andrew took me to Pasig via
his motorcycle because I can’t book a motorcycle taxi that night.
It was a joiner’s trip.
We rode a van going to Quirino.
We were eight in the van and we left Manila at 11 pm.
It was actually a long ride. We reached Quirino at almost 7 am.
And our first activity was a hiking/trekking to a waterfall.
Ganano Falls is located at Baguio Village in Diffun, Quirino. It
was an almost four-hour trek and 8 KM walk going to Ganano Falls and going back
to the jump off.
I love hiking actually!
Ganano falls was majestic and the hike was worth it.
Our next destination was a quick stop over at the Quirino Capitol
because of the provincial signage or arc that can be found there. We just took
some photos and we’re off to our accommodation for lunch.
Our travel coordinator prepared a sumptuous lunch for us. Because of our tiring yet fun activity this morning, we ate a lot!
After lunch, we then went to Governor’s Rapids located in Maddela,
Quirino for some water activities.
We road a boat and our first stop was the Tinyente Cave. We went
inside the cave and found waterfalls after a ten-minute walk!
Then we passed through the Kalapitag/ Bat cave while on the way to
Jump Rope and Cliff jumping area.
I was brave enough to do the Jump Rope and falling into the water
but wasn’t brave enough to do the cliff jumping. I feared the heights being on
top of the cliff. So I just backed off.
Nevertheless, I still enjoyed exploring the river of Governor’s
Rapids.
Our last activity was the river tubing. It was the same experience we had in Antique but this time was just a shorter trip.
This was a total of four-hour activity and I actually enjoyed it!
After this, we’re back to our accommodation to wash off and to
have dinner.
I slept early. I slept at 8 pm.
The next day I woke up at 6 am.
Breakfast was at 7 am then we packed our things and got ready to
go back to Manila.
But we had numerous side trips.
First stop was the giant cow statue at the Quirino Experiment
Station for a quick photo op.
Next was the infamous Landingan Viewpoint. I actually enjoyed the beautiful scenery of flower gardens and mountains there.
Despite the heat, we still had fun taking photos and videos.
And then we’re off to Dinadiawan, Dipaculao, Aurora to see its
long stretch of white sand beach.
We also took our lunch in Dinadiawan.
Next stop was pasalubong buying in Baler, Aurora.
Our last stop was the Little Vigan in Gapan, Nueva Ecija and we
had our dinner there.
And we're finally back in Manila.
Hubby fetched me in Starmall Crossing at 12 midnight.
I had a headache because of our long travel but for this whole
trip, I was grateful.
A new place was ticked off my bucket list.
And I am one step closer to my dream of exploring all the
provinces of my homeland – the Philippines.
Shout out to my best friend! To more travel with you BFF!
